NTIA and RUS Extend BIP-BTOP Application Deadline
This afternoon, the Rural Utilities Service (RUS) and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) announced an extension of the deadline for the initial round of applications to the Broadband Initiatives Program (BIP) and the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) until 5 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) on August 20, 2009. Of great importance for companies planning to submit an application, the extension only applies for electronic applications pending as of 5 p.m. ET on August 14, 2009.
