USTelecom Cybersecurity Toolkit: Industry Best Practices for Securing Cyber Space

Washington, DC – In an effort to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity during National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, USTelecom today released the association’s 2018 Cybersecurity Toolkit – a comprehensive guide to navigating the complex world of cybersecurity.

The USTelecom Cybersecurity Toolkit was developed to help a broad set of stakeholders better understand cybersecurity challenges and support efforts to counter cyberattacks. As cyber threats become more sophisticated and consequential, there is a heightened need for industry and government to work cooperatively to share information and establish effective risk management approaches. The Toolkit includes the latest data on cybersecurity initiatives, including more than 350 links to cyber definitions, overviews and reports, as well as industry best practices and cybersecurity strategies.

The free toolkit includes information and analysis from the White House, the U.S. Congress, the Departments of Homeland Security, Defense, Justice and Commerce, the Federal Communications Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, and USTelecom members, giving end-users invaluable insight to better secure their cyber space.

“Today’s cyber ecosystem is a highly complex and dynamic universe consisting of a global set of diverse stakeholders.” said USTelecom Senior Vice President, Cybersecurity Robert Mayer. “Our Cybersecurity Toolkit is a valuable resource for experts and novices alike to secure our digital society and the broadband infrastructure that underpins our connectivity.”

USTelecom plays a leading role in organizing sector advocacy with members, other trade associations and various government partnership councils and committees and regularly convenes high-level policy discussions with top officials in the White House, executive and legislative arena and critical infrastructure industries through the National Cybersecurity Policy Forum series.
