Today the FCC voted to move forward with a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) to help promote investment in next-gen infrastructure and speed the transition from outdated copper networks to modern broadband connectivity.
Below is a statement from Jonathan Spalter, President and CEO of USTelecom – the Broadband Association.
“USTelecom is all-in on building faster, stronger broadband to connect every American—no matter where they live. We applaud the FCC for working to clear out outdated rules that slow down progress and hold back investment.
With today’s vote, the Commission is moving to cut red tape and fast-track the high-speed networks America needs now—not rules written for the era of clunky rotary phones.
Big thanks to Chairman Carr and the FCC for pushing real reform that boosts innovation, fuels investment, and gets more people online, faster. It’s a smart move that puts modern infrastructure—and Americans—first.”
