Job Description

The Director of Digital Engagement will join a fun and passionate communications team to help strategically and creatively lead the association’s digital media initiatives on broadband innovation and the future of connectivity. The Director will be highly motivated, an excellent writer, well-organized and flexible with an ability to work simultaneously on a variety of complex issues. You will also regularly engage with our members, partners, and other stakeholders to tell stories and advance USTelecom’s agenda.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a high quality, earned social media strategy to advance USTelecom’s advocacy and public policy agenda
  • Develop regular content for all social media platforms, including videos, graphics and other visuals
    Increase engagement from key audiences, including consumers, USTelecom members, and policymakers
  • Capitalize on social media trends and further build and advance USTelecom’s brand online
    Work with USTelecom members to creatively mine and tell impactful stories appropriate for social media
  • Develop website content and updates, leverage analytics to determine the most impactful digital content

Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of experience in government, on Capitol Hill, campaign, agency, technology policy or a trade association
  • Demonstrated experience in social media/digital communications
  • Deep knowledge of social media platforms and digital trends and tools
  • Experience defining and executing social media strategy
  • Strong writing and editing skills; ability to simplify complex messages
    Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills
