Accelerating Broadband Permits Act of 2026 by Sens. Thune, Luján, and Barrasso unanimously passes Senate Commerce Committee, heads to full Senate
WASHINGTON, D.C. – USTelecom – The Broadband Association President and CEO Jonathan Spalter today praised the Senate Commerce Committee’s unanimous passage of the bipartisan Accelerating Broadband Permits Act, legislation designed to improve transparency and accountability in the federal permitting process so broadband providers can focus on building infrastructure instead of navigating unnecessary red tape. Below is a comment from Spalter.
“When it comes to connecting America, we should be building broadband infrastructure, not bureaucratic bottlenecks. The bipartisan Accelerating Broadband Permits Act empowers providers to spend less time navigating permitting red tape so they can spend more time on rapidly delivering the world-class networks communities need. Senators Thune, Luján, and Barrasso deserve real credit for leading this effort, and Congress should keep the momentum going by making sure broadband permitting accelerates deployment instead of delaying it.”
