For more than 70 years, Hargray has been a local company focused on making life better for residents and businesses across the southeast. Now a part of the Cable One family of brands, Hargray continues to fulfill its purpose of keeping customers in South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama connected to what matters most.
The company’s ongoing infrastructure investments ensure customers have access to a state-of-the-art network designed to handle future technological advances, further enriching the lives of our customers and contributing to the economic development of the communities Hargray and the Cable One family of brands serve.
Hargray is also committed to helping address social and economic difficulties in our markets by looking for ways to help communities in need. One example is the company’s work in Estill, South Carolina. Estill is located in an area that has historically been disadvantaged, and Hargray committed to empower the members of that community to connect and thrive.
Hargray invested nearly $1 million to bring fiber internet to Estill and offered deeply discounted broadband service to residents. More than 200 homes have since taken advantage of this offering. The company also awarded $2,500 to Estill Middle School through its “Dream Bigger” campaign, which will help provide instruction in robotics and algorithms to develop students’ problem solving, teamwork and attention-to-detail skills.
“We are proud to support the communities where we live and work,” said Jane Shanley, Hargray General Manager. “Bringing discounted broadband offerings, supporting local schools and taking part in community events are just a few ways we have partnered with the Estill community and we look forward to continuing to make a positive impact.”
Hargray and the Cable One family of brands will continue to help strengthen the communities they serve through donations of time and resources, including the Cable One Charitable Giving Fund, which annually awards $250,000 in grants to nonprofit organizations in their markets.
