WASHINGTON, DC— USTelecom President and CEO Jonathan Spalter announced today new additions to the association’s Law & Policy and Government Affairs teams.
Attorney Mike Saperstein will join the association April 9 as Vice President, Law and Policy. Saperstein previously served as Vice President, Federal Regulatory at USTelecom member company Frontier Communications. He also served at the Federal Communications Commission as an Attorney Advisor in the Public Safety & Homeland Security Bureau. “With deep experience advancing smart broadband policy at the FCC and at Frontier, Mike understands the opportunities ahead for our members, and we all will benefit from his leadership, sharp legal mind, and tough advocacy,” said Jonathan Spalter.
Kelly Misselwitz also has joined USTelecom as Vice President, Government Affairs. Misselwitz leaves the U.S. Senate, where she served as legislative assistant to Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) handling technology, telecommunications and infrastructure issues. Previously, Misselwitz served with the AFL-CIO’s Transportation Trades Department. She also worked in the U.S. House of Representatives for former Reps. Heath Shuler (D-NC) and John Boccieri (D-OH). “Kelly understands the promise that broadband infrastructure holds for our communities, our economy and the nation’s consumers. She will be a strong advocate before Congress for USTelecom’s members,” said Spalter.
