Privacy Policy

The USTelecom Association has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy and security. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for these Web sites:

www.ustelecom.org

You can visit our Web site without telling us anything about yourself. If you contact us and choose to provide your email address, we will use it to respond to your inquiry. We do not collect or maintain any information you provide for resale purposes.

To better protect your privacy, this notice explains our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used by USTelecom.

The Information We Collect

Our Web site collects two types of information from users: personal information such as email addresses; and non-personal information such as information about traffic patterns on our Web site (for example, how many users log on to our Web site on a daily basis).

Personal Information

Except as specifically, indicated, our Web site does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with others. You do not have to give us personal information to visit our site. We collect personally identifiable information only if specifically and knowingly provided by you, for example, when you join our mailing list.

If you are interested in receiving news and information from USTelecom on specific topics, you have the opportunity to enroll in our mailing list by providing us with your name and email address. We use this information to provide you with USTelecom-authorized news and information. We also request other optional information for our internal reporting and measurement purposes.

Non-Personal Information

We use this non-identifying and aggregate information about our users, traffic patterns and related site information to better design our Web site. These statistics include no personal information.

Use of Cookies

Our Web site uses “cookies” (files created by a web server that can be stored on a user’s hard drive) to store and track passwords. We do not use cookies to disseminate information about users or to analyze any information users have knowingly or unknowingly provided outside of our own cookies. You may refuse our cookies by turning them off in your browser. You do not need to have cookies turned on in your browser to access our Web site, but without cookies, certain features of our Web site will not be available to you.

How Do I Change, Update, or Correct Personally Identifiable Information About Myself?

If at any time you want to opt out of our mailing list, or to change, update, or delete an email address in our possession for any reason, please contact USTelecom Membership at membership@ustelecom.org or (202) 326-7361 to make those changes. Certain communications programs managed for clients may also include the ability to adjust this information online. This information is provided in those instances where this feature is applicable.

Children’s Privacy

Protecting the privacy of the young (i.e., individuals under the age of 13) is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our Web site from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of our Web site is structured to attract anyone under 13. If a child has provided us with personal information, we ask that a parent or guardian of the child contact us at membership@ustelecom.org if they would like the information submitted by a child deleted from our database.
