USTelecom—The Broadband Association is seeking a Traceback and Fraud Administrator to support its Industry Traceback Group (ITG) in the critical mission to trace, identify the source of, and ultimately stop illegal calls, including scam calls and robocalls, that defraud and harm consumers. USTelecom, the nation’s leading trade association representing and promoting the interests of its members, broadband service providers and suppliers, leads the ITG, a collaborative effort of companies from across the telecommunications industry that works with government and other stakeholders to actively combat these harmful calls. The ITG specializes in tracebacks, a semi-automated network-based process to determine the source of illegal calls and to work with voice service providers to stop them at the source, and serves as the official entity designated by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission to conduct private-led tracebacks.
The successful candidate will be dependable, possess strong attention to detail and organizational skills, and have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while working independently. Excellent analytical and strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work well in a fast-paced and team-oriented virtual environment, and a mission-driven commitment to protecting consumers from fraud and nuisance calls are essential.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Initiate and oversee traceback investigations, including troubleshooting any problems with the traceback.
- Onboard voice service providers new to the traceback process.
- Manage traceback request intake from law enforcement and partner organizations.
- Manage relationships and regularly communicate with external stakeholders, including law enforcement, voice service providers, and enterprise partners.
- Develop working knowledge of and expertise in relevant policies and laws concerning illegal calls to help educate third parties.
- Generate reports to present to ITG members, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Project management experience.
- Strong writing and oral communication skills, excellent time management, and demonstrated attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
- Driven to protect consumers from fraud and nuisance calls.
- Capable of handling sensitive and confidential information securely.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the telecommunications industry, particularly in areas related to network operations, security, or telecom fraud, or fraud investigations, law enforcement support, or related analytical fields.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting.
