Washington, DC (November 18, 2025) – Today, the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology marked up The American Broadband Deployment Act to reform and improve permitting for construction projects, including broadband builds, on federal lands. USTelecom welcomes this forward progress on eliminating unnecessary barriers to connecting communities across America.

The fixes we are talking about are not complicated, and would ensure firm shot clocks for approvals, standardize and streamline applications and reviews, and ensure agencies have the resources they need to work quickly and effectively on permits.
