Connected Future Fellowship

USTelecom’s Connected Future Fellowship program is dedicated to advancing the careers of college students and recent graduates from diverse backgrounds seeking to gain practical, professional experience in the communications sector.

This fellowship includes opportunities for individual candidates in the following areas: finance and accounting, communications, and government affairs.

Based in Washington, D.C., USTelecom is the leading voice of the broadband innovation industry. Our members have long demonstrated their multi-billion-dollar commitment to building the networks and technologies that connect communities around the globe to the power and promise of broadband and to deploying the transformative new innovations and services they enable.

Working with some of the world’s most dynamic, forward-looking companies – urban and rural, publicly traded and privately held – we are leading the national technology and innovation conversation and redefining policy advocacy for the 21st century.

Connected Future Fellows will be part time on a fall/spring/summer rotation. USTelecom will provide a $7,500 stipend for fellows, pair them with career mentors, and assist them with professional development-focused training and networking opportunities.

Fellowship Opportunities include:

  • Finance and Accounting

Fellows will have the opportunity to work closely with USTelecom’s Chief Financial Officer and accounting team and gain hands-on experience on items including governmental filings, reconciliations, and producing schedules and analyses.

  • Communications

Fellows will work as part of a team of experienced communications professionals to develop key public relations skills including researching and drafting communications materials; media monitoring and press list management; social media strategy and engagement, and related functions.

  • Government Affairs

Fellows will work with the government affairs team on the development of and advocacy for communications policy. The experience will include researching legislation, as well as drafting legislative memos, letters, and talking points to assist advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill and at federal agencies.
