Background: This morning, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit denied a challenge by Neustar over the Federal Communications Commission’s decision to choose Telcordia Technologies (i.e. iconectiv) as the next local number portability administrator. USTelecom was an intervenor in this case.
The following statement is from USTelecom CEO Jonathan Spalter:
“When Telcordia was awarded this contract by the FCC in 2015, one estimate suggested it could save $1 million a day in local number portability costs, which could ultimately result in savings for consumers. This decision is a welcome victory for both consumers and the FCC, which rightly chose the best, lowest-cost provider to oversee this vital service.”
