Background: The Federal Communications Commission today adopted an order that recognizes the Business Data Services market for high-speed broadband has become increasingly competitive and eliminates tariffing and other legacy pricing regulations in areas deemed to have sufficient competition.
This statement is attributable to USTelecom CEO Jonathan Spalter:
“Today’s vote to update the Commission’s regulations to reflect ten years of increasing competition and technological innovation will restore incentives to invest and invigorate competition to serve American businesses across the country. It is a measured step that reflects the massive amount of market data the Commission gathered in 2013 and careful and detailed economic analysis of that data. Today’s Order will strengthen our broadband infrastructure to benefit communities, consumers and the entrepreneurs it connects.
