Job Description:
The Manager – Special Projects will join a collaborative, fast-moving team focused on advancing the association’s goals around the future of connectivity. This role is ideal for a highly motivated and organized policy professional who is eager to learn, write, coordinate, and help move complex projects from idea to execution.
Working closely with colleagues across the organization, the Manager – Special Projects will collaborate across teams, track and manage projects, engage regularly with our members, and develop and contribute to written materials that advance USTelecom’s advocacy agenda. The right candidate will be curious, proactive, detail-oriented, comfortable juggling multiple priorities, and excited to work at the intersection of technology, public policy, and member service.
Responsibilities:
- Support the USTelecom team in advancing association priorities across broadband, technology, innovation, and related communications policy issues.
- Help manage projects from concept through execution, including maintaining timelines, tracking deliverables, organizing next steps, and ensuring key stakeholders remain informed.
- Support planning and execution for member convenings, working groups, coalition activities, and policy-related events.
- Draft policy-focused content and related association collateral.
- Serve as a reliable internal coordinator who helps keep complex projects organized, on track, and moving forward.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and project-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple deadlines, track details, and keep teams aligned.
- Sound judgment, strategic instincts, and the ability to think quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative working style and comfort working across teams and with external stakeholders.
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communications skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear, concise, and useful materials.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work product.
- Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn new issue areas quickly.
- Comfort using modern tools, including AI-enabled research and drafting tools and related productivity software platforms, to improve workflow, organization, and analysis.
- A sense of humor and appreciation for the power of connectivity are welcomed and encouraged.
