USTelecom ITG Supports DOJ Robocall Enforcement Actions

This week, Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed civil actions against companies and individuals allegedly responsible for carrying hundreds of millions of fraudulent robocalls to American consumers. The illegal robocalls originated in India, leading to massive financial losses for elderly and vulnerable consumers across our communities.

USTelecom’s nationally recognized Industry Traceback Group (ITG) assisted the DOJ by providing critical data to track down the scammers behind these calls.

We’ve made it a priority at USTelecom to join this fight and stop the plague of illegal robocalls. Our members and supporters of the ITG, alongside our government partners, are investing time and resources to help take back our phones and networks.

The ITG’s Traceback Process is a cooperative effort by telecommunications providers to trace robocalls systematically back through various networks, until it reaches non-responsive providers or the originator of the suspicious call is identified.
