Statement: FCC’s Wireline Broadband Infrastructure Vote

Background: The Federal Communications Commission today passed a Second Report and Order on Accelerating Wireline Broadband Deployment by Removing Barriers to Infrastructure Investment. The order will streamline the section 214(a) discontinuance process and the network change notification process.

The following statement can be attributed to Jonathan Spalter, President & CEO, USTelecom:

“Regulations from the past shouldn’t haunt broadband providers as they build modern networks that support next-generation services. This order continues the FCC’s important work to pave the way toward high-value broadband by placing outdated and unnecessary barriers in the regulatory graveyard.”
