Background: The Federal Communications Commission today agreed to consider a second Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on proposals to address any continuing issues with the completion of long-distance phone calls in rural areas.
This statement can be attributed to USTelecom CEO Jonathan Spalter:
“All Americans should have confidence that their phone calls will go through, regardless of the zip code they are calling. Complaints about the completion of long-distance calls to rural areas have decreased over the years, but there are still some consumers who experience problems. Ensuring calls are completed is fundamental to the FCC’s mission, and we look forward to contributing to the agency’s efforts to address this issue in an efficient way.”
