Background: Today, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) released a Report to the President on Enhancing the Resilience of the Internet and Communications Ecosystem Against Botnets and Other Automated, Distributed Threats about ensuring the security and viability of the nation’s critical infrastructure and the global digital economy.
This statement can be attributed to USTelecom CEO Jonathan Spalter:
This report is a major milestone in the battle to defend the security and viability of our nation’s critical infrastructure and digital economy. By calling for deepening collaboration across industry and government, our global community will be better prepared to combat botnets and malware and protect our internet from harm.
We thank the Administration for ensuring an open and transparent, multi-stakeholder process and applaud the work of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC) for engaging stakeholders in laying the groundwork for this ambitious project.
