USTelecom Names Allison Remsen Chief Strategy Officer

WASHINGTON, DC – USTelecom | The Broadband Association, a leading association of connectivity providers and technology innovators, today announced that Executive Vice President Allison Remsen has been named the association’s first Chief Strategy Officer. In this additional role, Remsen will guide USTelecom’s advocacy strategies across the policy and political landscapes in Washington, DC and beyond, and work closely with other association executives, as well as key partner organizations and stakeholders to continue accelerating USTelecom’s reach and impact on behalf of the broadband innovation ecosystem.

“Allison is a veteran advocacy executive whose perspectives, cool head under pressure and long-term vision make her an invaluable partner to me, to her USTelecom colleagues, to our members and to this industry,” said USTelecom President and CEO Jonathan Spalter. “This expanded role is a well-deserved recognition of Allison’s strategic savvy and outstanding track record delivering for USTelecom members.”

The move comes at a critical time for USTelecom’s advocacy in the nation’s capital, from administration of the $65 billion broadband investment included in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, to calls to revive outmoded regulations of broadband providers, to the organization’s groundbreaking work targeting those who generate illegal robocalls, to partnering with federal authorities in combatting cybersecurity threats.

Remsen has served as USTelecom’s Executive Vice President since 2017. Prior to this role, she served as Executive Director of Mobile Future; led media outreach for USTelecom; served as press secretary for the Democratic Whip in the U.S. House of Representatives; and worked in the government relations shop at NCTA during the passage of the 1996 Telecom Act.

For nearly 20 years, Remsen has volunteered and served on the Board of Directors for Horton’s Kids, the nonprofit group that provides tutoring, mentoring and other critical services to children in Washington, DC.
