WASHINGTON, DC – USTelecom | The Broadband Association, a leading association of connectivity providers and innovators, today issued the following statement after President Biden nominated Alan Davidson to lead the Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA).
USTelecom President and CEO Jonathan Spalter said:
“NTIA is a central driver of the government’s overall connectivity work – touching the internet, 5G, spectrum, cybersecurity and, of course, broadband deployment. In Alan Davidson, President Biden has nominated a person with a range of technology and innovation experience, and a perspective that crosses the public, private and non-profit spheres. We wish him luck in his confirmation and look forward to deepening our work with NTIA and the Commerce Department to bring the benefits of broadband connectivity everywhere.
“USTelecom would also like to acknowledge Acting NTIA head Evelyn Remaley who has shown real leadership, particularly in protecting our communications infrastructure from botnets, supply chain disruption and other emerging cyber threats. We look forward to continuing our work with her.”
